Bilingualism

Bilingual education at Lycée Français de Delhi

Since 2007 the Lycée Français International de Delhi is firmly committed to  implementing a bilingual French/English educational framework at the primary school level.

This framework aims at imparting both French and English language to students coming from diverse language backgrounds.

Through daily practice the students develop linguistic proficiency that allows them not only to integrate these skills in their daily life but also acquire the capability to learn and think in different languages.

This undeniable asset for the future of students had led the Lycée Français International de Delhi to offer a quality educational framework, based on students individual capacities, so that they make progress according to their own pace, with full  confidence and driven by a spirit of open-mindedness towards the world around them.

The curriculum taught is the French curriculum but it is imparted in both languages according to a customized teaching process which is modular, flexible, suitable and differentiated with a special focus on expression, extent and meeting of both languages.

This educational framework, imparted in both languages centers around:

  • A real intercultural approach that puts the child in the midst of two linguistic and cultural worlds,

.         Personalized monitoring

.         Precise evaluation of skills,

  • Dual teachers, imparting individualized teaching and working alternately with each other,
  • Increased communication with families.

A bilingual approach, adaptable according to levels
