The canteen of the Lycée Français International de Delhi is a central space in the establishment. Located between the two sports fields, it provides a warm and bright setting for meals.
Children will find on their trays a menu exclusively prepared with fresh products, consisting of a salad starter, vegetables with starch, proteins, a dairy product, and a dessert.
We prioritize nutritional balance and cater to seasonal needs. Products considered “at risk” in India (such as fish or pork) or “imported” and therefore too expensive are not offered. Throughout the year, exhibitions and activities are held to combine relaxation and culture.
The cafeteria of the Lycée Français International de Delhi is managed with the assistance of the Cafeteria Commission, composed of volunteer parents. The LFD staff oversees the successive services in the cafeteria.
Victor and the Bon Appétit team have been our cafeteria provider since September 2014. They are in charge of the kitchen and the preparation of meals for LFD students. Major preparation steps, such as vegetable cleaning and pre-cooking, take place in the main kitchen in Chattarpur. The final steps of dish preparation are done on-site.
The Bon Appétit team was selected and retained during on-site tests conducted in June 2014 as part of the tender for choosing a new catering provider. The taste quality of their international cuisine and very satisfactory hygiene standards were particularly appreciated during this selection.
Nutritional education at school should be connected to social life and take into account the diversity of models in different cultures. Taste is learned, educated, and acquired over time.
The cafeteria is, therefore, the venue for numerous activities organized either by the cafeteria manager or teachers:
Cooking sessions
Organization of activities within discovery workshops
Themed meals
Themed weeks
Promotion of high-quality products
If your child faces a food allergy or needs to follow a specific diet (gluten-free, vegetarian, etc.), we ask you to contact the director and fill out a personalised healthcare plan, which will be sent to the nurse. Only students with a special exemption will be allowed to bring a packed lunch (see conditions with the cafeteria manager).
