Au collège : les activités de découverte des métiers de la 5e à la 3e s’appuient prioritairement sur des rencontres avec les professionnels au collège ou dans leur environnement de travail. Apprendre à se connaître, découvrir de nouveaux centres d’intérêt et se projeter dans le monde économique et professionnel relèvent pleinement des missions de l’école et de ses partenaires.
Il s’agit de donner aux élèves le même niveau de connaissances sur les métiers, leurs évolutions et les formations qui y préparent. La connaissance des métiers, la capacité à s’orienter et à se former tout au long de la vie sont des compétences fondamentales pour être un acteur pleinement autonome dans un monde professionnel en mutation constante. L’ensemble de cette démarche permet aux élèves de développer leurs compétences en matière d’orientation, d’ouvrir leurs horizons et d’élever leurs ambitions scolaire et professionnelle, afin de favoriser des choix plus variés et éclairés.
Au lycée : concevoir son projet d’orientation, c’est travailler, tout au long de sa scolarité du secondaire, avec ses enseignants et avec la psychologue conseillère d’orientation sur les trois axes suivants : connaissance de soi, découverte du monde du travail et connaissance des formations.
Les élèves bénéficient, en classes de première et de terminale, d’entretiens d’orientation individuels obligatoires avec leur professeur principal dans le cadre de l'accompagnement personnalisé.
Forum organisé tous les deux ans par le LFID, qui réunit de nombreux professionnels qui présentent leur travail.
Le LFID peut s'appuyer sur l'expertise des conseillers d'orientation du réseau AEFE mais aussi sur les alumnii de l'AEFE accessibles via la plateforme Agora Monde. AGORA Monde est un réseau social mondial qui permet d'entrer en contact avec les lycéens et les jeunes anciens des lycées de l'AEFE afin d'échanger sur les projets d'orientation post-bac.
