LFID has a legacy of welcoming students for over 60 years. Our story began with a passionate group of French expatriates starting the school for their children in a standalone house. Today, LFID stands in the heart of Lutyens’ Delhi, catering to more than 300 students from over 35 nationalities. Our vision is to prepare students to become responsible global citizens, equipped to meet tomorrow’s challenges through a successful and fulfilling life.
Located in the heart of Delhi's historic Lutyens' quarter, LFID has been welcoming students of all nationalities for over 60 years.
In 1982, the school relocated to the site of the former French Embassy in India, sharing the diplomatic enclave with the French Institute in India.
In 2000, LFID received accreditation from the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE).
In 2009, the French school in Delhi was officially designated Lycée Français de Delhi, with all classes accredited by the French Ministry of National Education.
In 2017, a mutual diploma recognition agreement between the governments of Paris and Delhi allowed LFID to open its doors to Indian students.
In 2024, LFID introduced the French International Baccalaureate (BFI) program, as part of the international curriculum of the French baccalaureate.
