BFI Program Course Overview

Course Name Language Weekly Hours Grades Type of Exam Target Level Notes
Cultural and Linguistic Course (ACL) Modern Language A (English) 4 hours Grade 11 & 12 Written & Oral (final year) C1+ Students are exempt from LVA and automatically awarded 20/20. LLCE specialty is not compatible with BFI.
History-Geography (DNL) Half in Modern Language A (English) 4 hours Grade 11 & 12 Written & Oral (final year) C1+ Half of the course is taught in English.
World Knowledge (CDM) Modern Language A (English) 2 hours Grade 11 & 12 Oral (final year) C1+ The program combines history, geopolitical issues, contemporary world knowledge, and the culture of the country where the language is spoken. Students explore key themes: "Reflections on Society," "Living in the World," and "Building the Future."
Individual project (linked to World Knowledge) English Project-based Grade 11 & 12 No formal test; Project assessment N/A Students collaborate with an English partner (student, institution, NGO, etc.) on a project aligned with the World Knowledge program, incorporating personal research, an international component, and a focus on the culture of the language studied (UK).
