Physical Education (PE) aims to develop a range of motor skills in students through physical and artistic activities, enabling them to express themselves through movement. It also plays a role in health education, enhancing students’ understanding of their bodies and capabilities. Moreover, this discipline fosters responsibility and autonomy, instilling moral and social values like respect for rules, self-respect, and respect for others.
Through adapted and diversified school practice of physical, sports, and artistic activities, Physical Education contributes to the holistic development of students. This teaching plays a crucial role in maintaining physical fitness and overall well-being throughout life while instilling fundamental civic values. It encourages bodily engagement, which, for many young individuals, represents their primary involvement in physical activity. The aim is to foster a taste and enjoyment for regular and independent physical activity.
Within the framework of Physical Education and Sports classes for girls and boys, students collectively engage in the following activities: gymnastics, weightlifting, acro-gymnastics, table tennis, basketball, handball, and ultimate frisbee.
LFID has two outdoor sports fields, a gymnasium, and a climbing wall. For swimming activities, students visit a pool not far from LFID.
LFID students actively participate in sports events with other international institutions in Delhi and have the opportunity to engage in meetings with other French establishments in the Asia-Pacific Zone of the Agency for French Education Abroad.
